I have a Satellite A505 I purchased in the USA. I am currently in the UK and the power her is either 220 or 240. I do have an adapter for my power cord. But I am curious to know if I can simply swap out the 2 prong USA cord with a 3 prong UK cord into the power brick. The cords here in the UK even have fuses in them if this helps any information you may want to give. Is this making sense? I just don't want to fry my laptop.

I'd avoid doing this if at all possible. I've done this before when I was overseas - not on a laptop though. The result was not pretty ![]()
Yes we own a Toshiba! And yes we are a laptop battery company.

Yes, despite the misinformation in the other reply, you can do that and it will work perfectly. To confirm this, read the fine print on the power 'brick' - you will see that it will accept 110-240 volts at 50-60 Hz. The AC adapter is universal.
