Ok… System is a Satellite L355D-S7815. Starting 2 days ago it is having problems powering on. I’d say 1 in about 20 tries it will power on. When it doesn’t all I get the power light, wifi light, and the screen sometimes will flash on/off so fast it’s hardly noticeable. The hard drive doesn’t spin up, but you can hear the cd/dvd drive seeking. I can’t get to bios, and a boot disk in the cd drive doesn’t do anything. After the cd drive finished seeking, press the power butting for 4 sec to shut down and try again…
I've removed installed HD and ram... same thing. Tried just one stick of ram at a time... nothing. Then being an intermittent problem I took the system completely apart and reseated all connectors and the CPU... still having the same problem.
When it does power on it runs great. It's been running for over 12 hours now with no problems. Even ran some benchmark programs through it till it started getting too hot for my liking. Just don't touch the power button or close the lid.
Anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be or what else I can try?
