Hi,
I bought a a NB 205 - 311 last month. I always turn the netbook off using the 'shut down' mode but the battery keeps discharging.
Yesterday before I turned it off it had 90% then and when I turned it on the next morning it had 86%.
Is it ok to lose 4% during 8h while it's turned off?

A battery is always charging or discharging. So yes - very possible.

If a were at your place , i would change the battery. Propably, it is something wrong with the battery because it is not produced by an official manufacturer. I would look for some tips and for laptop batteries in the internet. Our main problem is that we don't know what are the ways to lengthen the laptop battery life. But i am sure that they exist and are available in the net.

My battery does the same thing. Even when the computer is off, it loses about 10% of it charge per day and in 6 or seven days the charge is depleted. What I do now is shut the computer off and disconnect the battery. I've check the battery charge for several days now and the battery has only lost 2-3% of its charge. Thus, I don't think it's the batter, but rather something in the way the moterboard is designed.

I bought my 205 in past July and I realized this in the first week. I sought some opinion on the net and some told me that this is very normal all laptops do that. I then called Toshiba support and the tech guy told me that I needed to cycle the battery a few times; that the battery was new and needed to be broken in.
It has been over 3 months now and nothing changed. Plus whenever I saw another brand laptop (one of which belonged to my brother) I asked them if they had this issue. None had.
I did test my brothers laptop and his laptop battery was showing the same exact charge after 5 days.
Now, that would somebody (knowledgeable and authorized) please explain to me how on earth this laptop drains the battery slowly when it is turned off and this is NORMAL?
I am a little tired and irritated of unplugging the battery everytime I put my laptop in its case you know!!!!
Appreciated...

Toshiba does not seem interested in resolving the issue. So unless there is a recall I don't see what we can do except to never buy another Toshiba product again.

If enough people brings this up(hopefully they will), then they will have to do something about it...
I will go all the way to the end with this issue. I am very interested in this unlike they are...

I really can't believe users are NOT bothered with this issue!..
Guys come on!.. I cannot be the only one... Yes this is a great netbook kudos to the manufacturer but netbook that drains the battery while it is shut down is really ridiculous!..
