L305-S5915 Can't use DVD Player. Error code19 Message reads cannot find specified drive.  MAT**bleep**ADVD-RAM UJ880AS (UF83 403918) Is there someplace I can download this?

Hi, I found this, tried it and it worked. Only difference is I also had to uninstall device driver and restart after running it.

http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/CDgone-file8.html    ---- download the file, save it. run it. restart.; that should do it.

CDGone is supposed to do exactly the same thing as the one I gave you (KB314060).

It probably comes from Microsoft MVP Jim Eshelman's site.

My DVD/CD-Rom is also missing.  It did work for over a year then it would be available sometimes and I would restart the laptop and it would be there.  Now it is completely gone.  Does not show up in the Device manager.  I tried the regedit but could not fine the Upper or lower filters where they were suppose to be.  Therfore I don't show any error codes.  The system cannot find it.  If I put a disk in and close it it appears to run up but nothing reads.

I don't have copies of the driver (Can't find it on the Toshiba web site) and am not sure where to look on the laptop and don't want to delete anything I not sure of and don't have a copy.  I cannot restore from the restore disks since it cannot read the CD's.
