I have to downgrade my E105-S1402 from Vista64 to Vista32 (because all software we use cant run with Vista64). The problem is Toshiba dont provide Vista32 drivers for all hardware. For VGA and Wifi, I have to go Intel Website to find the appropriate drivers. But for FMtuner device, which is not clearly described by Toshiba (I think it was created by Toshiba itself), I cant find Vista32 driver.
Does anybody here know how to make it work?
PS: I've tried to install Vista32 driver/utility for another Toshiba notebook's FMtuner. The software can run (show the FMtuner window), but cant work properly. And the device manager still cant recognize the hardware (unknown device).

I think NXP Software supplies the FM Tuner Software bsed on the picture in the manual folder of the utility archive file. I don't know how much that helps though. Any chance you can determine what chipset the FM Tuner uses? That might point us in the correct direction.

Dear Cee, that's the problem. Even when it's work correctly under Vista64, I cant find the name of the hardware/chipset - it just disappear from device manager (there's no unknown device anymore). When I tried to open the program, user manual (only for operation), there's no description and something about hardware. It just like small hardware integrated as part of my E105-S1402. Could you please tell me if you know something about this device, or where I can find the information.
Thank you.

I'm trying to find that out, but I haven't heard back from the person I know who also has one of those laptops. When I do I'll post back here.
You might try running SIW to see if it tells you anything about what chipset it is. It's amazing the kind of information it's capable of telling you about your system.

Yes, it's amazing, we can get many additional information. But it looks like only installed hardware is described here, "unknown device" is not there. And there's no "scan hardware" menu, so the software cant find any additional device.

If we had run it while your Vista 64 was still installed it probably would have told us what we needed to know. Hopefully the other person who has that system (and has a fully working install of Win 7 64bit) will be able to tell us. As soon as he get's back to me I'll let you know.

Hfreeman is the person who has that system that I PM'd for assistance but he has ignored my message. You might want to go to his E105-S1402 Windows 7 thread and see if he will help you with it. Maybe by posting directly in his thread he will be to embarrassed to ignore you in public like he has my PM's.
