Help with my A 105-S4383

I recently bought this laptop from a friend.  He knew I was looking for one and said I could have it if I could get it working.  His nephews had downloaded a virus on it and since it would not work he had to take it to circuit city.  They wiped it but he had already bought another laptop so he just let it sit.  Problem is now the DVD player does not work, it keeps telling me that I need to buy a decoder pack, also I think the drivers for the generic video card are either missing or something, because if I even try to play one of those cheap games from best buy I get messages like direct3d does not support your query.  I really wanted to just wipe it and start all over but he can't find his installation disc and I don't know how to get another one.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can order a replacement recovery disc from Customer Service: (800) 457-7777.  It will cost $19.95 ($24.95 for overnight shipping).  It will put your Toshiba back to 'out-of-the-box', and should solve your issues with DVDs.  Using the disc will wipe out everything on the drive, so it you have pictures or music you want to keep, back them up to an external device before you use the recovery disc.
