The European support site which normally has more XP drivers than the USA site doesn't even have them. What you need to do is run SIW or Belarc Advisor to determine what each of the chipsets are, then go to that manufacturer's support site to see if they have an XP driver for that chipset.
If you don't bother to post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

Ok thank you for the help. I have SIW installed and running on the computer- however I cannot figure out how to tell what the chipset or actual manufacturer is. It says under manufacturer=toshiba... which again gives no help

My first reaction to your post is to say that if you can't figure that out you shouldn't even be trying to install XP on that system as you aren't technically proficient enough to handle it.
BUt I reconsidered. CLick on the hardware tab about halfway down the left hand column, then double click on the Devices Link. Now double click on each of the devices and dig around to find the chipset.
