I understand, but what were we supposed to do with his questions? Just ignore him?
As for your problem, I would guess that no one knew the answer to your question. I know that I didn't.

Well, in some forums the proper action would be, to create a new post/thread as to have no confusion

True, but the other person didn't do that and I didn't want to not help him with something that I could hdlp with. I was hoping one of the mods would split the thread for him (which is what I used to do when I was a mod on other support sites), but that didn't happen.

Hey, guess what? I just got a 350GB hard drive form Bestbuy and I installed it on the computer. I tried to boot it on the test CD that I made, it still giving me the same error message. I to boot it on the recovery disc that Toshiba sent me, it still doing the same thing. it's like the problem wasn't the hard drive at all.
What do you think?

What brand of hard drive? What is the part number? If it's a Seagate you need to use the Seagate Diagnostic CD. If it's a Western Digital then you need to use the WD diagnostc cd.
And exactly what is the error message that you are getting?
And finally, does the new drive show up in the bios?

Sorry if I did not answer you earlier.
The hard drive is: WD Scorpio Black, 320GB, 2.5 in SATA. I get a black one instead of a blue, because I was looking for more speed. This one in 7200 RPM compare to the same one Blue 5400 RPM. 16MB Cash. P/N 499053-001. Model# WD3200BEKT
When I try to boot it with the Boot CD, the last shows:
Mouse Driver Installed
Loading DFT…
Can you remind me how to check whether the drive shows up in the bios again?

I tried to press F2 when I turn the computer on, but the information that I get for the bios in the Main tab if the same for both and the old hard drive: System BIOS Version: 1.70. I don't think that's what you're looking for.
