Thanks for the idea to order the replacement recovery media from Toshiba I did that yesterday and it will be here in 10 days let you know if i cant get it installed. Thanks

Got recovery cd from Toshiba and tried to install twice keep coming up with
write sector failure,result=1,drive=128,sectors 3745655 to 3745719

That's normally an indication that the hard drive is defective. To test the hard drivego to Hitachi and download the Hitachi Drive Fitness Test CD ISO image as Toshiba doesn't supply their own. Create the CD using the Burn From Image option (see http://iso.snoekonline.com/iso.htm for more information on doing this), then boot to it and run the most exhaustive tests available.
If you don't bother to post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

Ok tried with test cd and still nothing . The Toshiba screen comes up and is readable. But media disk starts out on black screen and saying what its preparing to do and some of the words are not spelled correctly. Had a spare hard drive and tried it same exact thing happened. OK could it be video card?
