I desperate need help pls! My Satellite has 3 years but looks like new. The problem is the DVD Super Multi driver needs a replacement  - I wold like to buy the crrect proper one to avoid problems but I don't have the specifications for it. - anyone knows?

Also the laptop freezes sometimes 3 times a day and this has been happening for more than a year. There is nothing that can be done but to loose the data and turn it off and back on again. Why is that? I have 1gb memory only.

The battery has already gone but I don't mind as much. I think it might be cheaper to buy a new one onstead to fix the frozen problem and maybe buy the DVD Driver - what do you think any suggestions appreciated?!

Thank you  I still need assistance in this. I I find out that this problem I have can maybe be sorted if I renew the BIAS. My laptop's BIAS is from 08/24/06. I need the correct updated BIAS for my U205-S5034 Satellite can you help giving me correct link to it?

Also as my CDROOM driver is broken can I use a pen driver instead to renew the BIAS?

Since I bough the laptop I have this problem but only now I finally found out that it is a problem that came with this machine and lots of people have it.

here is the 2007 BIOS su200v37.exe  HOLD for a moment: did not think the BIOS will assist  you initially. You can acquire replacement DVD component at www.toshiba.com or call  (800) 457-7777 to order.  Give the rep the full model# and have credit card handy. Please consider taking to Authorized Service Provider for a complete diagnostic, as your multiple problems need resolution and less money output{sure you will agree?}

Freeze aspect-remove all external components for now, learn results. Overheating could be occurring. Feasible the hard drive or board is incurring a problem.  Even check the fan/exhaust port area to be free of debris and check the power adapter wiring for signs of crimping.

Go into START/SEARCH and type in  eventvwr  and from there locate System Log and learn hat ''error'' is highlighted and resolution.  Once again, best recommendation is to take in for a complete diagnostic and save the headaches.
