I have a Satellite Model M35-S320. I would like to know the maximum size of SD memory card that will work in this model laptop. Thanks for any advice or comments on this matter.

Thank you for using the Toshiba Laptop Forums. Since there have been no posts to this thread in several days, it is being marked "read only" as part of our routine message board maintenance.
If you still need assistance, please feel free to post a new message.

To my mind, this thread locking BS is one of the biggest PITAs on this board. And in this case, Trina didn't even lock the thread. I noted about 75 new messages in the thread but when I looked, more than half were these useless maintenance messages. Oh well.
As far as SD cards are concerned, the maximum size of an SD card is 2GB and I would imagine that your reader could deal with that. 4GB and up are typically SDHC cards and in that case, they may not be recognized in an older reader. That model doesn't have detailed specs posted so I can't be sure but based on the fact that the User Guide doensn't mention SDHC cards, I would guess that 2GB is the maximum. If I were you, I'd test that if you can because some of the oldest card readers will only support 1GB cards.

Thank You, ChristopherC,
I had searched the specs and anything else I coul find but to no joy. I'm a 79 year old UASF electronics tech and my mind doesn't recall everything I have read or heard...........I do appreciate you answer. Thanks again, poppafat.

I am sorry for the confusion with this message. Current policy is to close old threads to prevent someone from responding to a thread with a similar but different issue that would be better served in its own thread. If a thread has no responses after three days, or if it has responses then after seven days, the thread is closed.
In both cases if there is no solution to a thread then a message is posted stating that the person can post again. Posting again will bring that new message to the top of the list, where that old message would have been buried deeper and deeper each day. Additionally if the issue is something that might be covered by warranty, then the number for the call center is left as well.
I do understand it can be a hassle to open a message only to find out that you can't reply. There is an icon to the left of each message that shows the status of the message. If it is shown with a little lock symbol, then the message is read only. Possible future software changes may allow us to respond to threads without the threads being moved to the top of everyone's unread thread lists.
I hope I haven't taken this thread off topic with this reply.

Keith,
I understand the reasoning, but question the real value. I've been a participant in a lot of user forums using a variety of software platforms and have to say that this one is one of the more 'user hostile'. The Powers That Be may consider lengthening the time allowed for replies but the real problem I think is inherent in the forum software. If you, as moderator, were able to reset the 'new message' flag when you do a move or a lock then a lot of the aggravation would be removed. Going to a forum that shows 15 new messages only to find that 14 of them were Chico or Trina moving messages around is not only aggravating, I think it discourages users from browsing and that is detrimental to the object of the forum.
Just a couple of thoughts. You can go beat on the Powers That Be or the software vendor now. <LOL>
Cheers,
Chris
