i have the A500-02f toshiba laptop--recently i can't get windows media player to play any livestreaming video --it comes up that it wont support file format--how can i fix this problem???

Can you provide a link to some of the streaming media that won't olay?  We need to know more about this problem.

i use www.wljc.com to play recent videos or livestreaming--i pick a day of the week but it always comes up "doesn't support media format.

I have Windows Media Player 10 on my desktop system running WIndows XP 64bit and it's playing fine for me.  What version of WIndows and what version of Windows Media Player are you using on your laptop?

This might take a bit, but I will get to the bottom of this as soon as I can.

thanks for your interest--i recently purchased the A500-02F Toshiba laptop--it has Windows 7 and i guess windows media player  12 installed on it but it won't play from this web site-my wife has a HP laptop and it plays  on from that particular site using windows media playershe hasn't win 7 installed on her yet.

Try this as an experiment. Right-click one of those Click Here links and then click Save Target As on the popup menu. Pay attention to which folder the Play.asx file is saved to.

Double-click that Play.asx in Windows Explorer and see if it plays. If not, quote the exact message in your reply.

In the meantime, open Windows Media Player, press the Alt key, point to Tools in the popup, click Options, and verify that the Network tab looks like this.

cant bseem to find any options on the win media 12 installed on this laptop--cant see a blue table of options like you have there

Try hitting ctrl + m to bring up the classic menu ystem.  That should provide you with a Tools Menu Item to click on to get to the options menu.
