Alright, well I got this laptop from a freind and it was pretty much screwed and didn't have any disks for it. So I installed a copy of Microsoft XP on it. I got everything working on it, downloaded every driver I could find pretty much. I downloaded the Toshiba ACPI modules and the Toshiba controls for XP and they are still not working. I am lost, I would really like to get these to work, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Donald
I think I found another problem that could be causing this, it is saying that I my Toshiba Common Modules is not installed, but I have installed and tried reinstalling it but nothing. Anybody got any ideas on that?
Now when I try to restart the computer, after I hit restart it trys to install it and then goes away, what is up with that.

Will do more research donaldjp3. Common modules has a sequence to be installed by. There is another module item to be installed.

I tried installing those two items, but still nothing. Is there a certain order you have to do all the drivers or anything. Because if so I might just reinstall windows and then install the drivers in the right order if that will make a difference.

I think that is the wrong version of Common Modules from Defender. Try this one.
Toshiba ACPI Common Modules for Windows XP/2000
Same with the hotkey utility. Try this one (which says it's for Windows 2000).
Toshiba Hotkey Utility for Display Devices for Windows 2000
Install them in the order shown and reboot in between.

Try doing the SAFE MODE function. Do a SEARCH and delete the 'common module', and then reinstall the items furnished by Jerry, in the specific order identified and learn what occurs.

Alright so doing it in safe mode didn't work. So, what I did was go in and delete the other drivers that I had installed and tried the common module first and it worked so I am in business now, lol. But I do appreciate everybodues input and help. So thanks everybody.
