Well my buddy was deleting processes and accidently deleted the process that I assume controls the scrolling function on the touchpad. Well ever since he did that, it hasnt worked. So i redownloaded the driver and now my touch and launch will not open. So i downloaded that driver and it still wont open. Any ideas? TIA

Which driver did you download?

Which touchpad do you have? Look in Device Manager (devmgmt.msc).

I cant remember what it was called but it was the process that controls the touchpad touch and launch and the scrolling.  I cant remember what it was called though. And i downloaded the touch and launch driver from the toshiba support website. Im not sure which touchpad it is, it doesnt say anything about which one it is

Open Device Manager (devmgmt.msc) and expand Mice and other pointing devices.

 How did you know whether to install the Alps or Synaptic touchpad driver?

i tried both. but i dont understand why the program just wont open up

When the device is missing from Device Manager, it usually means the device is malfunctioning.

Use a mouse instead.
