NB205-N311/W Touchpad Issues

[ Edited ]

I am having an issue with the touchpad on my new NB205.

The cursor stutters every 10 or so seconds. The far right side of the pad is completely unresponsive. The scroll feature doesn't work 100% of the time. These problems occur right out of the box using the default driver as well as the Microsoft HID driver. The touchpad is so terrible, I thought it was a hardware fault (the manager at the store agreed that there was an issue) and exchanged it for the same model - the problem occurs on the replacement as well. Does anyone else experience the same issues? Will there be a fix or is this the nature of the Alps pointing devices?

Sorry to hear about the trouble.  Please send me a private message with your NB205's serial number and your personal contact info.

To access Private Messages, click on the small envelope icon in the upper right area of this and most forum pages. From there, click the 'Compose New Message' tab and enter "jim" in the 'Send To' field.

Re: NB205-N311/W Touchpad Issues

I'm having the same problem with my touchpad too! I was blaming it on my lack of experience with touchpads and tried playing around with the settings but my boyfriend found the same thing happened to him to when using it (or trying to anyways!) Please help!!

Re: NB205-N311/W Touchpad Issues

I'm having issues with my keypad also but different.  I'll be typing along and all of a sudden I must touch the touchpad with my bottom part of my thumb and zap, I'm on a different page, or my document is gone.  argh.  I went in and made the keypad less responsive and that has helped some but am still having the problem.  My hubby is also having the same problem when he uses my mini.  (he really likes it!!!)

My mini model part no. PLL20U-00P01D displays the same problems.  Right side scroll unresponsive about 40% of the time, however lack of tap response is included in the symptoms.

Maybe this helps.

Please help :smileyhappy: I have the EXACT SAME problem! Is there any kind of solution to this? BTW this is my second nb205 I thought maybe the first one had some kind of hardware issues. Thanks in advance!

writecath,

Only the original creator of a thread can mark a response as solving the issue.  Even though you have the same or similar symptoms, this does not mean that one solution will work for all.  This is why it is best to create your own thread for your issue.  Also the system only allows one solution per thread.

I am glad Jerry was able to solve your issue though.

Keith

You may have missed this from earlier in the thread.
