hi all, i've a issue with my toshiba Satellite Pro L300-29H Part N. PSLB9E , tha wi.fi. adapter is a Atheros AR5007EG, i've install the last driver 7.6.0.200 by thosiba link and i've tryed with atheros link too ( 7.7.0.329 ) but when i've try to connect to a router with wpa (Tkip or Aes) it doesn't work. the wifi icon with the 2 monitor say that it's trying to obtain a new ip address, becous i'm working with dhcp, then say that the ip is obtain, but it change in disconnect and connect fro 2 or 3 time in 1 minute and than say definity disconnect... the atheros client utility say that there is a "autentication failure" . I've know that the password is correct, becouse with an other notebook it work, i've delete the wifi router from the list and reinsert it but didn't work, if i switch the security of my router to WEP or i disable the security it work.. The connection work with wired cable. it's the same with other 2 router (dlink and pirelli) now i'm trying with a new one. Maybe there is a Know Issue with atheros chipset ? maybe there is a setting that is hidden or i've missed when i config the wlan ? pls help me..

Could you please provide the exact system unit name of your toshiba notebook so i can look on out support website for known issue about the wireless card and fix. Thank You.

Hi Good Day,

Unfortunately we don' t have access to toshiba europe support website however what we recommend is to download and reinstall wireless driver and if no consider getting pc wireless card that has WPA capability from any manufaturer.

mmm... can u help me once one ? ... sry but  i want to ask u 1 more thingh, do u know where to get the firmware of this network wifi card ? is a AR5007EG based on the AR2425 chipset, ATHEROS is the productor.

I actually don' t know if there is a firmware for the wireless card for what we can advised is you can get the wireless driver off the support website for systems purchased from europe. http://www.toshiba-europe.com/

We understand that you want to have a highly secured connection however it seems not working in your end. We suggest that you also talk to router support or make use of WEP security key. Hope that helps.

I have an Acer 751h which uses the exact Atheros adapter and I have the exact problem, not able to connect with WPA encryption.  Same with my 6 years old Toshiba 17" Satellite laptop with an Atheros card.  But my 4 year old Lenovo with an Intel wifi card can.

This web link, http://www.atheros.com/pt/AR5007EG.htm, does not say the Atheros wifi card support WPA.  So my guess is it's a hardware limitation.
