Can't connect to internet

I have a Satellite L305D-S5934 on Vista. It says I have a local connection but I can't connect to internet either hardline or wireless. Both connect to the router but signals to the internet doesnt happen. btw, I am connected to the internet on another comp, so it's not a connection problem

Does the other computer run Windows Vista or 7?
If not, suspect the router. Check it out.
