I just did a fresh install of Win XP Pro on a Satellite 5205-s503 laptop.
Got all the drivers except the Ethernet Controller. Got the Ethernet
10/100 adapter but not the controller. I need the controller to finish the install.
LAN does not work without that driver.
I have been everywhere, got everything from Toshiba, nothing helped.
Driver Agent indicates there is a driver available but wants $29 to get it for
me.
Ideas Anyone?
Thanks

Got the Ethernet 10/100 adapter but not the controller.
What makes you think the LAN adapter needs two? This should be sufficient.

Because, in the device manager, there is a 10/100 Ethernet adapter and an Ethernet controller.
The Ethernet adapter drivers are installed but the controller driver is not.
And, the RJ45 plug on the laptop is not functional. So, I am going to assume, (you know what they say about assume)
that with out the controller driver, the Ethernet will not function.
I have already downloaded the drivers you recommend. Did not help. At first I thought maybe the chipset driver would
resolve this problem, but no luck there either.
I am stumped.
