I have a 3 month olf Toshiba Satellite A305 and for some odd reason it will not recognize my wireless connection. It was working fine up until two hours ago. The connection dropped and it says that there are no wireless networks avbl. I have trouble shooted and yes the wireless switch is on. Two other laptops in the home are running fine on the wireless network. Any suggestions?

What happens when you try to connect when you're plugged in? Troubleshooting always starts there.
If that works, what happens when you remove encryption from the network?
Which Satellite A305?

This is my same problem and I have done the trouble shooting too. My wireless switch is turned on. I have the Satellite A305-S6872. Jerry you mentioned turning the encryption off. Can you tell me how to do this? My laptop does work when conncected directly to the router. Thanks for any help.

Some routers do not play well with Vista. Check out yours.
Internet Connectivity Evaluation Tool
And check these items.
Troubleshoot problems finding wireless networks
You need to consult the router's instructions for how to remove encryption. Since you don't know what it is, it's probably not in use yet. Encryption types you might recognize are WEP and WPA.
