I just bought a Toshiba laptop (A505-S6980) with the Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless-N adapter. I have two other laptops that are currently connecting to my network at 300Mbps but this new Toshiba will only connect at 150Mbps.
Do i need a newer driver or is this particular adapter not capable of 300Mbps? I am not finding much information.
Thank you

If it's this one, Realtek says the card is capable.
Maybe the router needs upgrading.

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite A505-S6991 with a Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC. It came installed with Windows 7 (64 bit). I have a NETGEAR - RangeMax Dual-Band Wireless-N Router that requires you to name the 5GHz band and the 2.4 GHz band separately - so you can easily tell which band you are connecting to. My new laptop only sees the 2.4 GHz band, not the 5 GHz band. My Mom's Toshiba Satellite purchased in June 2009 with Windows Vista sees both bands from the router perfectly. I have tried updating the driver. Toshiba level 2 tech support never calls me back.
