I have tried all of the ethernet drivers provided on the toshiba website for windows XP none of them work

i need to get my ethernet working, my wireless internet works.

it stopped working when i completeley wiped out my HD and reinstalled windows xp...i got everything working except for my ethernet

So you installed a retail version. Did you know that the order of installing these things matters?

Best to restore (not install) the hard drive to its original contents using Toshiba's recovery media. That will include all the Toshiba drivers and utilities properly installed and tested. You can order the recovery media by calling Customer Service at 800-457-7777. They will want your computer's serial number and a credit card number.

The drivers you tried should have been these.

   Toshiba Fast Ethernet LAN Adapter Driver for Windows XP/2000

   Toshiba Gigabit Ethernet LAN Driver for Windows XP

i installed

just now, but I don't see a "local area connection" in my network connections. Only "wireless network connection" and "1394 connection"

i haven't tested it yet..but i am doubtful since the "local area connection" still isn't showing up in my network connections.

i tried the .zip file i was given a few posts up...still not working

help..i have no idea what to do. I would call toshiba but i dont have the serial number for my laptop since it peeled off months ago and i never thought to save it.

You might see if any of these people can supply a recovery CD. I have no idea whether they deliver.

I haven't the faintest idea what those third-party discs contain.

I was hoping you would hoping you would investigate and let us know.
