Hi, I recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite laptop computer, A505D-S6968:

It has been approximately 1 1/2 months, and I am noticing that there is a creaking noise, and a buckle problem likely occurring with the laptop hinges (locking effect when open and close lid). The laptop lid does not open smoothly, and seems stiff. I think it may be a problem with the hinges connecting the laptop screen to the main computer body. I'm not sure if it is just too tight from the factory, or another manufacturing defect.
Also, I am still covered under 1-year warranty. I would like to know how the process works, if I have to send it in, am I reimbursed for the cost of shipping and taxes. Also, am I guaranteed the parts will be new, or simply just another used, refurbished part. Furthermore, is it possible to take it to a local licensed Toshiba repair center, and will be reimbursed for this problem, as I am busy with my business, and education, it would be less hassle and time consuming.

You'll need to talk to actual Toshiba Support for those answers. This is just a User to User forum. Click on the Warranty Link at the top of this page to get the ball started.
If you don't bother to post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.
