camera problem on M700

I noticed that somone had posted a similar problem that I am having at the moment awhile back, but no solution was given:

http://laptopforums.toshiba.com/t5/Drivers-and-Utilities/Old-version-of-Camera-driver-in-Portage-700/m-p/33671

I have the M700-S7005X model (XP service pack 3), and after receiving emails from Toshiba regarding updated drivers and etc, I decided to install and update everything that was fitting for my machine. All seems well except for the integrated camera. The camera and the factory-installed camera assistant software were both functioning fine, but then after installing the "Chicony Camera Assistant Software for Windows XP / Vista / 7 (v1.7.254.0330L; 05-14-2009; 23M" the camera only displays a very thin horizontal strip containing the image and the rest of the viewable window is green. I had tried to track down the original software without success.

Any suggestion is appreciated, thanks.

Re: camera problem on M700

The problem has been solved.

I had forgotten about the Toshiba Applications Installer, which allows you to reinstall the factory-installed softwares. I uninstalled the new Chicony program and reinstalled the original Camera Assistant Software (v1.7.148.0720) and the camera is functioning appropriately once again.
