I recently bought a Qosmio X505-Q830 four days ago and its been working perfectly fine as far as I can tell though I do have one concern. I'd say a day or two after I bought it I noticed when I powered it up the fans were louder than I remember. Not loud like something is broke but louder than normal, like the fan is randomly on high. Mind you at the time I'm not running and games or anything and the air coming from the vents is actually cool. Also when I restart the laptop the fans usually quiet back down to low by the time I get to the log in screen, which really has me confused as to what could be up. For all I know this could be normal but I guess I'm a little paranoid being that I bought this laptop because my last one, a Satellite X205-S9800, was giving me issues with the fan where I had to replace them twice in six months. If anyone has any thought please let me know.

Fans will spin up faster or slower depending on the heat. If your fans kick in when your playing games its normal or movies.

Check and see if theres a BIO's update. Could be the fan spins faster. Mine starts faster when i power the X305 on it starts out on highest setting than tapers off as i get the login screen. I haven't found anyone complaining about it so its not a widespread issue.

my old qosmio(3years use) have same problem, and supprise my friend other model qosmio also same problem too.
it happen without any touch, or happen unknown reason.
my solution bang near fan locate, or just turn off my notebook for some time, and some times luck it become silen.
