Quick Question On (Qosmio X505-Q850)

Can i upgrade the 320gb hardrive to a Seagate Momentus hardrive?

Specifically: [http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148374]

it may seem crazy to want more space but from what I currently have seen, 320gb hardrive often cannot be enoughfor someone whom downloads so many programs and plays so many pc games ^_^

I'm 60% sure i can, and if not that's kind of sad on Toshiba's part but. It'd be nice not to have to worry aboutspace.  If alienware can make the graphic cards upgradeable, then I'd assume Toshiba can with the hardrive.

Thanks in advance =)

Technically yes, although why would you want to do so considering the low reliability factor that Seagate Hard Drives have experienced over the past year.

unless you can recommend a better one, and there could be a different reason for each problem

i find customer review to be unreliable 60% of the time because around 60% don't put down details, or a smart comment.

Re: Quick Question On (Qosmio X505-Q850)

I wasn't referring to just customer reviews.  Seagate has admitted to the reliability isses with their drives and issued firmware upgrades for some of them.  Unfortunately it hasn't been long enough to know how effective those fixes have been.

I normally recommend Western Digital Scorpio Blue's for laptops.  The have the best reliability to go along with reasonable performance.  7200rpm drives simply run too hot in laptops due to the comfined space which causes them to overheat and fail too often for my tastes.

Of course other peoples mileage may vary and one needs to make such decisions for themselves.
