The motherboard is proprietary to Toshiba - there is no third-party replacement.  You'll have to go to National Parts Depot or Spare Parts Warehouse to get one.

BTW, if it's under warranty, why are you looking for a motherboard?

Re: A305-S6905

my laptop wont boot and Ive posted all over and nobody seems to know whats wrong.  I finally got this thing to tell me in a repair program. My mbr is corrupted and needs a metabeta repair.   So I looked  at all software to help me do that, and found one at a fairly reasonable price.   They gauranteed it for 30 days, said it would boot and fix any puter.   Well guess what, nothing, I did everything twice sent them an email saying I wanted a refund cause it wouldnt work, now they sent one back wanting all my info on what my puter has in it cause they think its a compatability problem and extended my warranty to 6 months.thats why I wanted to know the name od the motherboard.

OK, let me try to make some sense from your reply:

my laptop wont boot

OK, that much is clear.

My mbr is corrupted and needs a metabeta repair.

When you say 'mbr', do you mean the Master Boot Record?   I'm sorry, but 'metabeta repair' is just gibberish.  To repair the Master Boot Record, you use the command 'fdisk /mbr' from the recovery console.  To reach the recovery console, you can use a commercial Windows CD (not the Toshiba recovery disk) or any of the many repair CDs on the market.

So I looked  at all software to help me do that, and found one at a fairly reasonable price.

That sounds as if you found a repair disk.

Well guess what, nothing, I did everything twice sent them an email saying I wanted a refund cause it wouldnt work,

If it isn't working, it may be because the disk you got doesn't support SATA drives.  You might want to ask the people you bought it from if you need to do anything special for a SATA drive.  If you already are, then it is likely that the hard drive has a hardware fault preventing the MBR from being repaired.

now they sent one back wanting all my info on what my puter has in it cause they think its a compatability problem and extended my warranty to 6 months.thats why I wanted to know the name od the motherboard.

As I said originally, the motherboard has no 'name' - it is a proprietary (specially designed) motherboard made for Toshiba.

Re: A305-S6905

whether  the word metabeta repair is gibberish or not, its what this laptop said when it ran this program.  I'm very computer illiterate but learning stuff everyday.  When I bought this laptop  they didnt give me a windows disk to go with it, just 2 recovery disks, so I probly got screwed there, but if nothing else will fix the master boot record  I will have to send it back to the manufacturer.  Spotmau was the website I got the program from.

Spotmau products are a poc and don't really serve any usefull purpose. They won't and can't fix much of anything and normally leaves a system in worse shape than it was in before they was used.  The Recovery Disks for that computer would fix the MBR if one knows how to use them or one can download the Vista Recovery Disk from Neowin for free to do it.

Basically what that laptop has is a Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset laptop motherboard.  That's about as specific as any of us users can get (this isn't Toshiba Technical Support, just a bunch of users trying to assist other users).

But my questions is if the system is under warranty why not have Toshiba fix it for free?  That would make a lot more sense to me.  Or tell us specifically what the problem is and we'll try to talk you through the repair if we can.
