Re: A45-s150. Hard drive what interface

You need a 2.5" EIDE or PATA hard drive with a capacity of 120gb's or less.  Your system does NOT have 48bit addressing which is required to use hard drives larger than 137gb's in size so 120 is the largest it supports.

Re: A45-s150. Hard drive what interface

I also have a Toshiba Satellite a45-S150. I upgraded the HDD back in July cause my HDD was defective. I upgraded to a WD 320gb Scorpio Blue drive which worked great up until last Thursday. When I turn on my notebook The display shows Toshiba for a second and then goes black as if it is hibernating. any clues?

Yep.  Read my previous post.  That will tell you everything you need to know.  Basically, you tried to use a hard drive that isn't supported by the hardware and the software kludge that was used to fool the bios into thinking that drive would work stopped working.  Get a 120GB drive or smaller and try it again.
