a regular cleaning cloth to wipe down the screen and chassis? Is it micro-fiber? is it safe to use on the machine or is it just one-off packaging material?
thanks

I use it to cover the keyboard when I'm not around the computer: keeps the dust off. It certainly is more finely manufactured than similar protectors used by other manufacturers, though I doubt it is strong enough to withstand abuse as a cleaning cloth. It seems to be very fine linen.

Microfiber cloths are available from the local Dollar Store for about a buck apiece. Why bother or take a chance with something that could harm an computer worth hundreds (or even thousands) or Dollars.

I figure if it were that dangerous Toshiba wouldn't use it to cover the both the glossy lid and LCD screen. My question was if it was suitable for cleaning and not just protecting.

It wouldn't be dangerous if used in the way that Toshiba used it as a packing material. Attempting to use it as a cleaning cloth is a different matter altogether.

you aint too bright are ya? if it were exceedingly dangerous it would not be used to cover the LCD or glossy lid, my question is if it could double as a cleaning cloth. if you are not going to help in providing solutions plz dont post your extremely unhelpful replies.

First off I never said anything about it being exceedingly dangerous, only that I wouldn't take a chance trying to use it to clean a laptop when a microfiber cloth that is KNOWN to be safe for that purpose can be purchased for about a buck. There's a big difference in using it for packing and using it for cleaning. If you can't understand that you have a problem.
As for not being too bright, boy you have another think coming on that.
And I haven't seen you post more than a couple of posts offereing assistance to others so far. My record here and on other forums speaks for itself.
