I have a A135-S4637, and yesterday it stopped to work the video (all the lights turn on, the fan starts but turn off after some seconds). Here in my city we don´t have a Toshiba support center, but in a maintenance center they told me mine isn´t the first to appears with this problem in my city. 6 others appeared with the same problem, and they sad they need to change the chipset.

I live in a small city in Brazil, and I want to know if someone else had the same problem, because just in my city is the 6 to present the problem, and I think can be a problem with the serie produced.

Shimizu,

Go back and tell them they are lying and trying to steal your money.  You cannot "change" a chipset.  You can change the motherboard however.  Before you tell them they are crooks ask them if they meant they would change the motherboard.

Have you first tried to access the computer in safemode?

OR

Install a new battery first. This is MUCH MUCH cheaper than buying ew motherboard

Is the laptop beeping when you try and turn it on?  Are you getting any errors across the screen?

I think they will change the motherboard (but they say the problem is in the chipset, this can happens, right?)

Concerning your question: Whey I turn it on, nothing appears in the screen (no response, just the sound like a fan), I tried to turn it on directly with the plug (without battery) and no answer.

The laptop didn´t beep, and nothing appears in the screen.
