Heating Issues (A215-S7437)

I purchased my laptop, to inlclude the Best Buy warranty, less than 2 years ago.

I have had multiple/ongoing heating issues with this laptop to the point that it:

     1) Has burned people as they use it;

     2) Shuts down at which point it overheats.

It is not the battery that is overheating the heat is generated around the fan area (yes, the fan has been replaced/adjusted).

Has anybody else had issues with this?  If so, what did you do to repair the issue?

Thanks for any advice!

If your laptop is burning people, then immediately turn off the computer, and call Toshiba at 800-457-7777.

My A215 was running hot and the DVD player ran loud. While downloading updated DVD drivers from the Toshiba Support web site it crashed. Dead. Forever. Too bad for me I guess. No more Toshiba's

Re: Heating Issues (A215-S7437)

Keith,

     I have set this up in a desktop situation (at a desk so the PC doesnt touch the arm/leg while using it) but I still have to use it for school (when the unit doesnt shut down from the extreme heat).

     Trying to get Worst Buy oh sorry I mean "Best" Buy to stand by their warranty/product but they are pretty much washing their hands of it.

Thanks Keith...

Re: Heating Issues (A215-S7437)

I am not a technical support rep, so I can't offer further advice.  Maybe someone else in the forum will respond.  My main concern was if you were actually being hurt/burned by the computer.  Glad that is not the case.
