I am looking for information on the procedure for replacing the existing 60 GB yard drive with a large capacity, say 250 GB. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks to me that model should support 48-bit LBA. So there's essentially no upper limit on the drive size.
You need a 9.5mm SATA drive.
Don't reinstall Windows unless you must. Doing that on a SATA drive can be vexing. Best strategy is the following
Use a commercial backup program to write an image of the drive to an external drive. After installing the new drive, boot from the CD that accompanies the backup program, partition and format the driver from there, then restore the backup.

Thanks for your response. WHat I really need is some information how to physically replace the existing drive with a new one. The existing drive is a Fujitsu MHV2060BH PL, and unfortunately I don't have any manual which I can refer to. I want to avoid the risk of breaking something in the process of carrying out the replacement.

Sorry, I don't know where to find a disassembly guide for the Satellite A110.
Maybe somebody else here knows.

See if you can find something here that can help.
If you don't bother to post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.
