My Satellite A355-S6935 will not sleep, never did sleep, it would go through the process and then come right back up. I didn't worry about it because I used Hibernate more. So I set the lid closed setting in the power options to Hibernate and all was well. Now, suddenly, after 3 months of using it, it won't hibernate either...close the lid or pick hibernate from menu goes through the whole process, turns off for about 2 seconds, then comes right back up and is at Resuming Windows or at the login screen when I open the lid to see what is going on.
Anyone have a solution? I see a BIOS update on the support page but it does not mention this. Any help or how do I get help from actual Toshiba technical people?
Windows Vista 64 bit home edition, ran all normal updates, have not changed or customized any other OS stuff.
thanks!

This is common. There are many programs and hardware drivers that can interfere with sleep and hibernation. Start by running msconfig, remove all the checkmarks from the startup tab, then reboot and try sleep and hibernate. If that works, then start adding the checkmarks back in to figure out which one caused the issue.
