Satellite Laptops :: A-Series models

Hi,

Here is what I did:

1. The screen on my old Toshiba A205 cracked so I swaped it with a higher resolution screen from a Dell laptop. The Toshiba screen was 1080x760 resolution, the DELL screen is WSXGA+ (1600x resolution). The connectors and CFL lamp typ were the same on both screens.

2. The laptop starts and the screen comes up. BUT it is red and all th colors seem distorted. The computer recognizes it as a higher resolution screen and lets me set up the 1600x resolution. But the colors are always distorted with a reddish tint.

I would appreciate any advice on how to fix this color issue.

Take the incompatible Dell screen out and replace it with the correct Toshiba screen.
