Max Mem is 4gig total with 2gig in each slot. Use Kingstons KTT line for best results. Anything else might not work properly. Go to Kingston to determine specifically what module you'll need.

Like I said previously get Kingston KTT or don't even bother. Go to Kingston to see specifically which modules you need.

Hi
I have a satellite a215-s4807. I want to upgrade to 4gb of RAM. Since the laptop already has 2gb of RAM, do I need to buy an additional 2gb of RAM or do I need to buy a 4GB RAM kit (2x2)?
Will I get better speed performance by upgrading the RAM or upgrading the 160GB, 5400RPM hard drive?
Thanks!

No way for us to tell. It might have one 2 gig stick or it might have two 1gig sticks. You'll have to check that out prior to ordering to determine how yours is configured. You'll want to open it up and check for yourself. Please note that if you still have the ewbit version of WIndows you'll only be able to use 3gigs on that system anyway. The fourth gig will only be usable if you have switched to a 64bit OS, but the overal system performance will be lower than it would be with 3gigs on 32bit Windows.
A faster hard drive will make loading Windows and programs quicker while additional ram can increase overall performance more.
Depending on what you are doing with your laptop the ram upgrade will be the better overal choice as it will impact more areas than the hard drive.
