mscd001 driver not found

I have Toshiba Satelite A300 Laptop

i have reformatted my hard-drive and I am attempting to reload Win XP. After using the boot disk to format and select "with cdrom
support" I recieve the following message,
" Device driver not found: 'MSCD001'
No Valid CDROM device driver selected"

 

now whar should i do?

Some of us old-timers will recognize that as the message you get when the line in Autoexec.bat (MSCDEX.EXE /D:MSCD001) and the line in Config.sys (DEVICE=<path>\xxxxxx.SYS /D:MSCD001) do not lead to the CD drive's driver.

 

It tells us that Toshiba uses old stuff to run the restore program.

 

In this case, it also tells us that something's wrong with the CD you're using. You might try copying it to another physical disc. Sometimes that fixes things.

In this case, it also tells us that something's wrong with the CD you're using. You might try copying it to another physical disc. Sometimes that fixes things.
