this thing locks up multiple times a day, on mozilla or IE on any website, you have to reboot and it takes forever to logout ! If you turn if off you get the serious windows error upon restart. Ive tried everything I cant even use the software provided to start from scratch as it wont take it ! Any ideas appreciated! this is by far the worst toshiba ive ever had !

I don't have that problem, but I'm agree that I had the worst toshiba i´ve ever had too. 

Mine is a Satelite A215 SP4027, and the area avobe the keyboard get warm and is very very unconfortable, in warranty change 1 vent at 1 or 2 month after buy it.  And the problem persist, and by now the warranty is finished, and  i have to use an extra keybord, because I´m getting pain in my hands bounds.  Terrible.  Somebody else have problems with the temperature of the keyboard?????????

I want to know if some other people had laps with the same problem, to ask for an extension of the warranty or mustly to change the lap, with the heat the lap is gona break down sooner or later.

1. Does the problem occur when you boot into Safe Mode with Networking? See Advanced startup options (including safe mode).

2. Does the problem occur when you boot normally into another user account? If necessary, create one.

ya know mine had to go back to toshiba recently because of a password to bios issue! i live in alaska so this was a loss of the lap for awhile, but they also cleaned the fan out while there because it was gettin hot. it still gets real hot while using but under, not the keyboard.

jerry sorry i didnt read the whole email.  i only use 1 account, never thought about establishing another account. honestly i hate vista and wish this had xp but they were all out at purchase, it makes this model very slow and battery life terrible !

Try to find a situation or sequence that makes the problem occur. We need the results of the two tests I gave you.

Jerry tried to use safe mode and couldnt do anything, no internet etc. tried the other approach as well and it still happens. I also did some of the options on safe mode to see if it would help and so far no. Do you have a next suggestion ?

I suggested Safe Mode with Networking.

Be sure you are not using wireless. That will certainly complicate things.
