I have a brand new Toshiba L355-S7907 with Intel T4200 and 3GB SDRAM. It came pre-installed with Windows Vista. The problem began by not recognizing my Windows password and only allowed me to log in under a guest account. Now when I try to boot it up all I get is a bluescreen DOS prompt asking me for a password and after 3 attempts shuts the system down.
How do I get logged in and get onto the laptop without having to send the laptop into Toshiba for repair?
Thanks for your help.

Sounds like it's the BIos password. If so you'll need to send it in to Toshiba for repair as ther is nothing you can do at home that I know of.
If you don't bother to post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

I am thinking the same thing but hoping that someone comes up with a work-around to get past this. I have a degree in computer science from MIT and everything in me tells me the motherboard is fried. If you or anyone else has any ideas I would be more than open to them. Thanks for your time in responding. GS
