Can a 1005-S157 boot from USB.
Look'd for Bios upgrade, but could't find any details about this option in the upgraded Bios.
Any other options for instaling a new OS, only have internal FDD drive, no internal CD or DVD.

I don't believe you can install Windows from a USB-connected CD-drive on that model.
But you should be able to obtain a new internal CD drive All of these will do the job.

PA3103U-2CD1 Modular Bay CD-R/RW
PA3104U-2CD2 Modular Bay DVD-ROM/CDRW
