Can a 1005-S157 boot from USB.

Look'd for Bios upgrade, but could't find any details about this option in the upgraded Bios.

Any other options for instaling a new OS, only have internal FDD drive, no internal CD or DVD.

Power on and imediatly press the F12 key.  This should give you the boot devices menu, which will let you select what to boot from as well as show what is availible.

Satellite 1005-S157 

I don't believe you can install Windows from a USB-connected CD-drive on that model.

But you should be able to obtain a new internal CD drive All of these will do the job.
