Please help.  I've had this laptop for about 6 months.  DVDs or CDs wont burn or play. When I insert something it lights up but no action afterward.  USB Ports are dead...none of them read anything that i plug into them.  When I plug something in, i hear the sound indicating something was plugged in, but then no action afterwards.

I suggest you restore the hard disk's contents to factory-new using Toshiba recovery media. That will tell you whether the problems are due to software or hardware.
