The ISO file is a CD Image File, not a DVD image file. Nero is a bit strict about what it will and won't do with Image files so it won't burn it to a DVD disk. Download BurnAware Free as it will burn it to a DVD (I just checked to verify this).
- Open BurnAware Free
- Click on the DVD tab on the left hand side
- Click on Burn ISO Image under the Disc Images heading
- Browse to the location of the 2610v19.iso file that you extracted from the original downloaded file in the SOURCE menu
- Make sure that your DVD burner is showing in the Destination Drive window.
- Click on the Large Red Ball at the upper right had corner of the program to start the burn.

With all your help, I FINALLY got the BIOS updated.
Now, even with that done, driver nv4 still causes windows to shutdown when I enabled it. I have uninstalled and installed a driver from Toshiba.
The computer seems to operate without it. Why do I need it?
After Windows shut down, I received the following message:
***Stop: 0X000000BE (0XC0000005,0XF4FB8102, 0XF7059C50, 0X00000000)
***nv4_minisys-Address F4FB8102 base at F4F20000, DateStamp 4074b958
Don't know if that helps any.

If it runs without it then I would advize doing so.

Thanks for the reply.
What is the driver for, if it runs without it?
I do have poor picture quality, but most everything else is readable. It is a little better than when I was running in Safe Mode. There, I had vertical lines.

It's the full featured video driver for your system. It allows higher quality display settings than the standard Windows VGA supplied driver does.
I did some googling on this yesterday and for the most part it appears to be either a video chip problem (will only work in VGA mode but is unable to work in anything else) which can't be repaired economically or a bad driver.
Have you tried the geforce mx 420 driver? At this point I'm not certain exactly which drivers you have tried yet. Also make sure that you have Direct X 9c installed as most NVidia drivers rquire it.
First download the current geforce diver.
Try to install it (it will stop saying there is no nvidia cards in your computer)
This puts the install files in your C:\nvidia directory
Remember the installer number that's directory name
93.71 forceware_winxp2k_english-whql.exe = c:\nvidia\win2kxp\93.71
Go to the device manager open the display driver. Right click on the driver for the geforce 420 go. Select update driver. On the first window select. Not at this time then click next select form a list or specific location. Click next. Select don't search I will choose the drive to install. Click next click I have disk. Click browse open your install directory click ok. Select nvidia geforce4 mx 420.. Click next. Windows will complain that this is the wrong driver. Click yes to install and start praying!!
If that doesn't work you might want to check out Laptopvideo2go to see what they have to say about this. They have some modified drivers that aren't available elsewhere.

Thanks.
I'll try this. Just mark this problem as solved. If I need more info, I'll open a new post.
Thanks again.
