When you upgrade the memory, be sure and purchase carefully. Toshibas are notoriously picky about RAM and only the correct Kingston memory is tested and guaranteed compatible. Incidentally, the Kingston KVR series is never the correct memory. Other manufacturers will often work, but be sure and get a guarantee that will give you a full refund if what you buy turns out not to be compatible. As far as graphics is concerned, you don't have a video "card"; you have a video controller chipset which is integrated with the system board. As such, it is not upgradeable.

ChristopherC,
thanks for your sound advice, I check on the user manual and it says that my option for memory expansion are
2 memory module, and i can only use PC5300 compatible DDRII, aside from kingston what are other brands available and will be compatible.
thanks

That appears to be a European model and I don't see it listed on Kingston's website. However, since your manual mentions PC5300 RAM, I would guess that you would use the Kingston KTT667D2/2G. As far as other manufacturers, I've seen Crucial work in Toshiba notebooks but I'll say again, make sure that the memory you buy is listed specifically for the U400-13J and that you get a compatibility guarantee that will allow you to return the memory for a full refund if it doesn't work. Personally, I would stick with the preferred Kingston.
