I have no sound at all...i get messages that say audio/video playback error. Control Panel says i have no audio device and it will not let me select a default. My sound was working a few days ago. I have downloaded the latest drivers with no avail. what do i need to do to fix this problem?

Please quote the precise messages on lines by themselves and tell when when the messages occur. Spelling counts. I don't care what they say - I just want the string of characters.

Yes that is the driver I used.

When I open the sound controls the messages says:

There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to Control Panel, click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Add Hardware.

This Program will now close.

I tried that and cant figure out what to do. Also when i open Itunes it says:

iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration.

Audio/Video playback may not operate properly.

Open Services (services.msc) and verify that the Windows Audio service is Started.
