I'm in the same boat after doing a clean install of Win7 Ultimate on a P305-S8920 - No Mic.

Got it fixed.
Went here: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/js
Selected my model and loaded the WIN7 driver for the audio manually. I also went down the list and loaded every other WIN7 driver I could find on the list -- I did leave off stuff like "PowerCinema" though.

It's from Canada.
Your 64-bit Windows 7 drivers and utilities are here.
Try installing this driver.
Conexant Audio Driver, 4.98.6.61

I know me too. I have a Satelite L505-S5966. I tried to update my drivers, didn't work, it says it is up to date. It says I have 2 mics installed, but I only have one, and 1 won't let me update my driver.

Peculiar that there are two different drivers with identical version numbers and release dates. But the files themselves are a different size. Try them both.
Realtek Audio Driver for Windows 7 (32/64) (Version 6.0.1.5904 - Released 09/04/09)
driver_audio_realtek_TC50025500D.exe
Realtek Audio Driver for Windows 7 (32/64) (Version 6.0.1.5904 - Released 09/04/09)
driver_audio_realtek_TC50042400C.exe
Uninstall the current driver in Device Manager by right-clicking the audio device and clicking Uninstall.
There's obviously an error here. Maybe our Toshiba babysitters will take notice and report it.

Hey all,
I just posted a thread where I got my internal microphone to work. It appears to be an issue where the two microphones may be conflicting with each other. I assume that you can disable whichever you don't want to use, and enable the one you do. See my post, and let me know if this works for you.
Thanks!
