Hello, I recently did a clean install of windows 7 64 bit on my Toshiba satellite M300 notebook and now find my built in microphone and even external microphone do not work. I tried updating what I thought were the right drivers from connecx and also downloaded the Toshiba assistance file for after installing windows 7 but no luck. Can anyone help?

I am having the same problem with my Toshiba Satellite P35-89151. Neither the built-in cam mic nor the lin-in mic are functional now.

I just found a fix: In Windows 7 -> click on Start Menu and type 'Sound'.  Go to the Sound Properties then click on 'Recording'.  Open the properties of the microphone (if it is available) and change the boost to MAX (+40db).  This should resolve your issue.

I have similar problem on Satellite U405-S2920 after I updated on Windows 7. The built-in microphone did not work. Any ideas?

Its the m300 with a Processor    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU     T5750

The numbers should be on a label on the bottom.

If it was made in the US, the model might look something like M300-ST3402. The part number, something like PSMD8U-028011.

Both the Belarc Advisor and System Information for Windows often can report facts like that.
