Satellite A505-S6992 audio problems

I've just bought a new 6992 with Win 7, and all of the audio has this underlying popping to it. It doesn't matter whether it's from a CD, files ripped to the HD, streaming audio, streaming video, or whether I use iTunes or WMP 12, with the exception of the sample music that was loaded in WMP already. I've applied every update I can find and think of and still have this problem. Does anybody know of a fix for this, or am I up a creek here?

I've had a similar problem too, and I personally pointing the finger at the nvidia drivers (though this is just a pure guess based on my observations). Download the DPC latency checker here: http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml. This program shows misbehaving device drivers which can affect audio as well as other things. I disabled every device driver I could, and once I disabled the nvidia graphics adapter (probably not the best idea!) the problem went away.

Having a similar problem here on a slightly different model (A500 that I customized)...It looks like you may be correct on the graphics driver causing sound problems.  I just disabled my NIVIDIA GeForce G210M driver and got my crackling to stop.  Now...what if I want my graphics and my audio to function normally?  Is that too much to ask?  I enabled the driver again, but of course the speakers resumed crackling.
