Hi There,

I have a Satellite Pro E105-S-1402 and was wondering if there's any way I can connect it to our Sony Grand Wega tv or our Sony dvd player?  I noticed our TV has a HDMI in port and have just ordered a HDMI cable, but will I just have to plug it in when it arrives, or is there something else I have to do?

Also, I bought a HDMI to VGA cable to connect my laptop to my a LCD monitor for two-screen display, but it doesn't seem to recognize it... what am I doing wrong?

Your User's Guide will tell you how to configure your system for HDMI out.  It's on your hard drive in Adobe Acrobat Format or you can download it from the Product Support Link at the top of this page. 

HDMI is Digital and VGA is analog.  You can't go directly from one to the other without a fairly expensive converter box.

HDMI is simple... i actually have your laptop (using it now) and plugging it in via HDMI to my TV just works, no issues. Toshiba is actually offering to send you a HDMI to VGA or HDMI to DVI cable for free. Simply call Toshiba (1-800-457-7777)... tell them you have an E105 and would like them to ship you a free cable and they will... simple as that. i've come across a number of HDMI to VGA cables that simply don't work (or are meant to be a VGA to HDMI, not the same thing). good luck.
