HDMI out not covering full screen on external monitor

[ Edited ]

I'm rolling with a P305-8842 with the ATI 3400 Series Mobility Radeon.  After upgrading to Windows 7, the 1920x1080 mode no longer covers the full screen on my external display (ASUS VH226H via HDMI)... in other words, there is a black band running around all four sides of the screen.

To get it to cover the full screen, I'm having to run in 1680x1050, which not only is not my monitor's native resolution, but is a different aspect ratio as well...  it's very distracting.

The monitor doesn't offer options to strech the display, and the Catalyst Control Center apparently doesn't either.

Please help me get back to my full-screen joy.  Help meh, please.

.......

EDIT:

Problem solved by selecting the 1920x1080 under both Catalyst Control Center and the Screen Resolution from the desktop context menu.
