I have a Toshiba Tecra A8-S8513 with the Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family.
Is there a driver that supports higher widescreen resolutions, e.g. 1920x1200? The version I have is 6.14.10.4543.
Intel seems to have an updated driver to support this, but the laptop will not support it.

Here's what I posted in a different thread. Since you have a 945 instead of a 965, you will have to poke around on Intel's site a bit.
You can install the driver from Intel, but you have to delete the Toshiba sourced video driver first.
Didn't go to check the driver version, it may have changed by now.

Well, I found a machine with the 965 chipset/video
Satellite A305-S6833
Windows Vista 32bit - SP1 installed
Intel video driver installed: 7.14.1329
Since my server is still down this morning, I was only able to get as far as the log in screens, but even those were missing many of the graphics on this machine, especially the frames and some textures.
I installed version 7.15.10.1666 of the Intel GM965 driver.
Download that file, then unzip it.
Go to Device Manager, then open the Display adapters section and right click on the entry for the graphic chip and select "Uninstall". Put a check in the "Delete the driver software for this device". Then click OK.
After it does its thing and you have an ugly screen, restart the computer.
Then go back into Device Manager. You should see the Display Adapters section already open with an error on whatever is there.
Right click on the item with the error and select "Update Driver Software"
Then select the "Browse" option, and point to the "Graphics" folder inside of the directory that you got when you unzipped the driver files. In my case I put the in "c:\downloads", so I pointed to "c:\downloads\winvista_15124\Graphics"
Then click Next.
I can't remember if there was another button to click at this point, but at some point I turned away from the computer, and when I looked back, the screen was black, but the hard drive light was blinking away, so I left the machine alone for a few minutes after the HD light stopped indicating activity, then I manually shut off the machine by holding the power button for a few seconds.
Started the computer back up and after some complaining (let the Intel programs run, and select the option to let them run when they want) the machine came up and the graphics were fine looking.
Went to Device Manager to check the version. Shows 7.15.10.1666 now.
Started up WoW, no more missing graphics. Still can't log in as servers seem to still be down.
The only glitch seems to be that every boot Windows asks if I want to allow three intel files to run. doesn't seem to matter if I uncheck the boxes or not (you'll see what I mean if you try this). seems a minor annoyance.
