M305-S4819 screen problem / fix?

Sadly, it seems that the very underutilized (never left the house, was always treated like a fragile antique) M305-S4819, about 18 months old, is showing what looks like LCD matrix issues, where the picture itself suddenly goes very dark, or can cycle through normal / dark / dark accent, with the occaisonal bright accents flashing on the sreen.  It would seem like this is an LCD matrix issue, and looking at the National Parts Depot from the toshiba home page, I am presented with a few screen options for this model:

 A000025210  LCD, ADT B141EW04 V4, 14.1" WXGA 200 CSV
 A000025220  COLOR LCD MODULE
 A000025230  LCD, CML N141I3-L02, 14.1" WXGA 200 CSV
 A000025240  LCD, GST LP141WX3-TLN1, 14.1" WXGA 200 CSV

Any guidance on which is the OEM part, and which is the recommended part?  I am really unimpressed with the Toshiba experience, having had 7 notebooks/netbooks in the past 9 years, some Toshiba, some that rhyme with "Bell", and some that were from a company like "H-Q" or something like that - the Toshiba screen quality has been awful, and this will be the last Toshiba I buy.  However, as I was kind enough to sink about $900 when I first bought it, I would like to get a little more life out of this....any guidance is appreciated.

Re: M305-S4819 screen problem / fix?

all 4 of those are OEM parts. toshiba uses multiple screens in the M305 series. multiple vendors (such as LG, Samsung, etc.) manufacture the screens, that's why you see more than 1. so all 4 are OEM compatible with your computer. your issue is one i have seen before and it may not be LCD screen related. often these issues stem from a bad lcd cable (connection from LCD to the system board) or simply a bad connection of that cable to either end (LCD or system board). if you're comfortable taking your unit apart i'd try reseating the cable first, then replacing the lcd cable, and finally replacing the LCD if needed.
