Running Windows Vista (the software fail of the century).
Right in the middle of a session, the screen will go black. I have to shut down and reboot. Usually happens when I am on-line.
My apologies. I thought I saw this problem a while back and have searched but cannot find the thread.
Thanks.
John

Having same problem with my Satelitte A215-S4747 - I'm being told by Toshiba and some technical friends that it's a software problem. The solution is supposedly to back up everything and then do a Bios update - you can find this on the Toshiba site... Haven't tried it yet, but Toshiba says that should fix the problem.

Yes, this is a known problem for that model. It's fixed with a BIOS upgrade.

Worse yet, if the following problem arises you're dead in the water.
